Hellebores …A star winter performer at the Amazing Grace Flower Farm

The Hellebores plant is often called the Christmas rose. Here at the Amazing Grace Flower Farm the sight of these strong & colorful plants gives us a warm feeling that our growing season for the new year is upon us. Especially during the Winter season when there are very few visible signs of growth
These plant gems usually start to show their buds right around Christmas. The buds continue growing through January and begin to bloom during the months of February and March. Just in time to pair up with some of the early daffodils typically, in March and April.
Hellebores are wonderful plants to use to brighten up areas at the Amazing Grace Flower Farm where it is very shady. Oh, what a delight it is to go out to look at them. They are survivors of whatever winter throws at them.
The plant for us has a strong association with serenity, peace and tranquility.
As the winter nights get shorter and the sunlight gets stronger during the latter part of January, we our encouraged about our growing season for 2024.
